From Sales to Soul: How Thai Yoga Massage, Qi Gong & Yoga Transformed My Life

A Turning Point: Finding My Soul Purpose

In 2012, I experienced a major turning point in my life. After living in Argentina, I suddenly had to return to Germany. I fell into a deep void, feeling lost and unsure of my path.

In that space of not-knowing, I began exploring meditation, yoga, and self-reflection. It was during this time that I took my very first Thai Yoga Massage course in the mountains of Chiang Mai, Thailand. That single experience changed my life forever.

I even missed my return flight — because I knew I had found something meaningful. I stayed, dove deeper into bodywork, Qi Gong, and holistic health, and eventually traveled to San Diego to study further. This was the moment my path toward healing practices became clear.

The Teachers Who Shaped My Journey

  • James Stewart, founder of Sensory Repatterning, showed me the power of fluidity and the water element — teaching me how to let go of control in both body and life - James passed away in 2016.
  • Itzhak Helman, my first Thai Massage teacher, reminded me that we show up to share, regardless of how many people are in the room. Service to the greater good comes first.
  • Cameron Tukapua, my teacher in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), introduced me to the wisdom of the Five Spirits, which continues to guide me today as a father, practitioner, and teacher.

Their teachings live in me, shaping both how I practice and how I guide others.

Why Healing Touch, Yoga & Qi Gong Found Me

  • People often ask: Why did you choose this path? The truth is — it chose me.
  • Back in 2009, I was working in sales: long hours, constant stress, and little fulfillment. One day, a colleague took me to a yoga class in Munich. The class itself was fine… but at the end, the teacher sang mantras while playing the harmonium.
  • Something inside me cracked open. I became emotional. Something had awakened.
From that moment, I kept returning — first to yoga, then to Thai Yoga Massage and Qi Gong. What started as curiosity unfolded naturally into a new life.

Connection: The Heart of All Practices

  • What unites Thai Yoga Massage, Qi Gong, and Yoga is connection. They connect us not only physically, but energetically.
  • In Thai Massage school, we always began with Qi Gong or Tai Chi — to center ourselves before touching another person. Qi Gong taught me to move from my center, to feel subtle energies in myself, in others, and in nature.
  • That sensitivity is what makes presence so healing. Presence influences more than words ever can.
  • To integrate these practices, I developed YogaQiFlow, my own blend of Hatha Vinyasa and Qi Gong. It balances yin & yang, calms the nervous system, and prepares both body and mind for deeper bodywork.

Life Lessons I Share With Others

  • In my courses and retreats, I often remind students: sometimes, simply being fully present is enough. Presence itself is already a gift.
  • My #1 advice for well-being is simple: slow down.
As a very yang-oriented soul (Leo by birth), calming practices became my medicine. The slower I move, the more I feel. The more my nervous system arrives, the more I am truly here.

Advice for the Younger Generation

Many young people today feel lost. That isn’t a flaw — it’s a sign that something in our way of life is off.

If I could give advice, it would be this:

  • Surround yourself with people who share your values — simplicity, nature, health, connection.
  • Let go of relationships that no longer serve your path — not with judgment, but with self-respect.

When I was 26, I quit my job, sold my car and apartment, and bought a one-way ticket to travel the world. I told myself: “Spend all your money. Let’s see what happens when you return with nothing.” Six weeks later, I had a new job, new home, and even a new car.

Everything is possible when you trust your heart.

Final Thoughts

Every emotion has the right to be felt. Life is not about pushing emotions away, but allowing them. My best choices came from listening to my heart and gut, not my mind.

And life isn’t just about the self. It’s about the collective — creating ripples of presence, kindness, and clarity that extend beyond us.

This is the spirit I carry into the SOUL IN TOUCH Method — through bodywork, through movement, through touch, and through simply being present with one another.
